"ArtBlock Revealed" on display from April 29 - May 9 in Mobius gallery Opening reception: Friday, May 7

 

Friday, May 7 will be the opening reception in the Mobius gallery for "ArtBlock Revealed" -- a group show highlighting the work of performance and visual artists from the ArtBlock condominiums located at 725 and 735 Harrison Avenue in Boston's South End. The show's opening reception will be part of the South End's "First Fridays" Open Studios gallery tour and will feature a reading of performance artist Sibhoan Brown's "A Piece of Silver" at 7pm.

Bookending the Joshua Bates Art Center, ArtBlock is a mixed-use development of market-rate units, first-time homebuyers and Boston Redevelopment Authority-certified artists that was built in 2006 to support and preserve Boston's arts community. The east building's adjacent gallery space, inhabited by Mobius, is part of our commitment to the South End's arts scene.

Participating resident artists include: performance artist Sibhoan Juanita Brown, photographer DESI, painter Liz Gribin, photographer Geoffrey Kula, visual/mixed media artist Lara Loutrel, painter Jennifer Roberts, photographer Jennifer Roy, visual/mixed media artist Eric Starosielski and painter Rebecca Trueblood.

Mobius is located at 725 Harrison Ave. in Boston's South End. Gallery hours will be Thursday, 5-8p; Friday, 5-9p; Saturday, 10a-7p and Sunday, Noon-6p.
